The Call For New Speakers for 60 minute presentations is now closed but if you are interested in submitting grok talks or micro-presentations we are very interested in hearing from you.
DDD South West is all about the community and we want you to be part of this event. Speaking at events like this raises your profile, gets you noticed and leads to the next step. And it can be fun. But getting into this world can be challenging and that's where DDD South West comes in. DDD South West is offering 60 minute speaking slots to new speakers. Here are the rules:-
- You must live in the United Kingdom.
- You must not have presented at a major event before (including but not limited to any DDD, TechEd, DevWeek). Speaking at a user group is fine (and encouraged!).
- You must have presented your full session at a user group at a date prior to DDD South West (in other words there must be a live practice run to a public audience other than your work colleagues).
If you can meet these requirements then email your proposal(s) (a title and abstract) to newspeakers at dddsouthwest dot com. We will collect all proposals and try to accommodate as many new speakers as possible. Note that emailling a proposal does not guarrantee you a speaking slot at DDD South West.
And if you want to get some tips on how to present in public checkout these links:-
Alternatively if you like the idea of speaking but don't want to jump in at at 60 minute session we are also looking for speakers for grok talks and micro-presentations to be held at lunchtime. Grok talks are 10 minute presentations on any subject relevant to the DDD South West audience. Micro-presentations are 20 slides of 20 seconds each (6 minutes 40 seconds in total) also on any subject relevant to the DDD South West audience. If either of these options interest you send an email to groktalks at dddsouthwest dot com.
