.NET Blub: The right tool for the job?

Joe Stead

The majority of my career has been dominated by the .NET world, although recently my focus has been on exploring the greater development community. I'm a firm believer of continually learning and trying new things, you never know what else is out there.

Brief Overview

A lot of web projects in .NET are written with ASP.NET MVC and EntityFramework with SQL Server. Everyone knows there is no such thing as a silver bullet, so let’s check out some alternatives. Exploring some common problems, we’ll take a look at NancyFX, Dapper, and Postgres, to help us solve them.

We’ll be looking at these frameworks with a slightly twisted take on “The Blub Paradox”, explain what it is, and how it is relevant to making the best choice to solve the problem at hand.
